🌿 Discover one of the most authentic corners of Jimena de la Frontera 🌿
At the end of Fuentenueva Street, right at the intersection with the CA-8201 road, a circular route begins that takes you deep into the heart of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park. The starting point: the well-known Cortijo de las Tenerías, very close to the Los Alcornocales campsite.
🚶♂️ The trail begins by ascending the historic Vereda de Ubrique, an old road to Seville and part of the GR7 E4 long-distance trail. From the first cobbled section, nature takes center stage with wild olive trees and spectacular landscapes that accompany you throughout the entire route.
🌲 As you continue, you will cross forest tracks, firebreaks, and areas replanted with stone pines, until you reach one of the most impressive viewpoints: the Mirador del Puerto de las Asomadillas viewpoint.
📸 From here you can enjoy unique views of the Hozgarganta River—one of the few unspoiled rivers in Andalusia—the Lomas de Cámara hills, El Aljibe peak, and Jimena de la Frontera, crowned by its castle.
💧 The route continues down to the river, where you can cross its crystal-clear waters via footbridges and enjoy a natural environment of great ecological value.
🔁 The route ends by returning to the starting point, after a final climb that puts the finishing touch on a perfect experience for hiking and nature lovers.
