One of the most interesting trails in the Genal Valley is the Route of the Genal River Footbridges.
This trail is part of stage 27 of La Gran Senda de Málaga (GR 249) that joins the towns of Banalauría and Genalguacil. It also shares a route with the Great Path of the Serranía de Ronda (GR 141). Until the installation of the 3 sections of footbridges, this section of the river was inaccessible, now with them we can enter the depths of the Genal Valley. We will walk along the riverbed and others hanging over it.
Despite the low rainfall this year, this corner of the mountains hides unique corners of exuberant Mediterranean vegetation. Almost the entire journey we will walk in the shade of poplars, cork oaks and pines.
