The first fair is held in Jimena de la Frontera on the second weekend of May. Activities mainly revolve around livestock, including musical performances held within the fairgrounds in the various stalls.
At the livestock fairgrounds, enthusiasts gather with their horses, mules, and donkeys to socialize during these days.The Garrocha Competition and the Mosquero Competition are held by the "El Estribo" Horse Riding Club. This group also organizes the Horseback Ribbon Race, which takes place within the same area. The Vaquera Dressage Competition is also held for beginners and broken-in riders.
Saturday morning begins with the horsemen's parade, the opening of the Livestock Market, and the Muleteer Exhibitions, organized by the Andalusian Association of Corcheros and Muleteers (ACOAN), as well as the election of the Best Dressed Rider and Best Dressed Horsewoman. The Livestock Market reopens on Sunday, and this atmosphere continues throughout the day.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Local Sevillanas Dance Competition takes place in the Musical Booth. On this Sunday, the Booth is enlivened by a Rociero choir, a dance group, and an orchestra.
At the same time, on Saturday, there are performances by musical groups in the various booths set up around the venue. Throughout Rociero Sunday, you can also enjoy the good atmosphere in the booths with performances by rumba and sevillana groups. An orchestra also provides dancing in the Municipal Booth on fair nights.
