Cliff Viewpoint Trail
From the A-405 road, the main entrance to Jimena de la Frontera, ascend Avenida de los Deportes, passing through Plaza de la Constitución to Calle Sevilla. Continue along Plaza Gibraltar and Plaza del Puerto Morán, finally taking Calle Llana to the end of the street, where the Los Miradores del Risco trail begins and ends.
The trail begins through a wooded area leading to the first viewpoint, El del Eucaliptal (see (1) on the map), through which you can gain initial exposure to the impressive views of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park offered by this trail. From this viewpoint, you can see El Cerro del Castillo and Laja del Águila, a small preview of the views that can be found at the different Miradores del Risco. Continuing along the proposed route, you can appreciate a panoramic view of the natural setting in Jimena de la Frontera, a municipality where its past, present, and future are connected with nature.
After the Fuente viewpoint (2), we continue the trail to the southwest viewpoints: Laja del Águila viewpoint (3), Grieta viewpoint (4), Roma viewpoint (5), and Poniente viewpoint (6), perfect places to take a break and appreciate the beautiful views of the surroundings.
Another must-see stop is located at the top of the Risco viewpoints. Located in the northeast, we find the Caracol viewpoint (7), where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and landscapes of the Natural Park: Las Lomas de Cámara, La Garganta de Gamero, La Laja Alta, Jateadero, La Sierra del Aljibe, El Puerto Asomadillas, La Loma de la Umbria, and the Hozgarganta River as it passes through this municipality.
To complete the tour, it is advisable not to leave without visiting the Jimena de la Frontera viewpoint (8), which offers a fascinating view of the city and some of its most emblematic monuments.
