SENDERO DE LOS MONTES DE BENARRABÁ

SENDERO DE LOS MONTES DE BENARRABÁ
The trail allows you to see almost all of the public mountains of Benarrabá, located south of the town centre and occupied by a very well-preserved cork oak forest with gall oaks.
The sawtooth profile is the result of the extremely uneven terrain on these slate hills. There are several geographical features to be avoided, such as the Veguetas and Covatillas streams (the points at the lowest altitude) and the Loma del Coto and the Cerro de la Corchuela as the highest altitudes.
The most notable differences in the mountain lie in its sunny or shady orientation, with undergrowth dominated by rockrose or heather respectively. It is in the valley bottoms where nature is exuberant, with groves of Moorish gall oak and broad-leaf undergrowth where the diversity of ferns and some Mediterranean species with restricted distribution stand out.
